Pretty in Pink

Here's my take on 365 cards challenge "Pretty in Pink." I think this dress is cuter than the one she made but hey, who am I to criticize Molly? I love her and Harry Dean Stanton, (Duckie too.)
I used CTMH stamps for the dress, sentiment and flowers. I used my Sakura gel pen for the dots on the dress, the ink is CTMH pink carnation. Off to clean my scanner, my card has some yuckies on there that aren't there...get it?

Hedgehog Christmas

This is Day 183 sketch from 365 cards and also the Penny Black Saturday challenge which is to make a Christmas card using a Penny Black product. I love the hedgehog stamps. I used CTMH cardstock, Copic markers and the Martha Stewart branch punch.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame....

Put me in coach, I'm ready to play today. Put me in coach, I'm ready to play today...look at me, I can be Centerfield. Since I live close to Cooperstown, NY where the Baseball Hall of Fame is, I thought I would do a baseball card with a background of the Hall-of-Famers from 1936 until 1979 (that's all the names that would fit on the paper for my card.) I then used 2 felt embellishments from Kodak, and twilight cardstock from CTMH to complete the card for the 365 day challenge which was to have a ball on your card.

Chalkboard technique....stamp with white and then dust with chalk. I'm not crazy about this card but I don't have time right now to do another one. I just got a call to start a new job this Monday. I'm so excited! My card-making mojo has been off lately.
The challenge today at 365 cards was to leave "white spaces." Mine aren't "white" but you get the gist.

Grandpa and Uncle Leo

Day 180 at 365 cards called for a Vintage card. If ya look at my past posts, that seems to be alot of what I've been doing. The pictures of the 2 boys (yes, they are boys even though they are wearing dresses...I guess that was the thing to do back then) are my grandfather (L) and my great uncle (R). The top part of the card (postcard) is actually what is on the back of the picture. This used to be very popular, and I have quite a few ancestors immortalized on the front of postcards. This looks "unfinished" to me. Maybe a ribbon across where the 2 papers meet? This was a good stroll down memory lane. They both have been gone 30+ yrs. and I miss them terribly.

Day 179 at 365 cards is all about Checkerboards. I loved to play when I was younger. We would play for hours. Then we got into Chinese checkers....way different but lots of fun. I wish my friends and family were into board games. We mostly play cards and we are all addicted to e-games. Have a great day!

Day 178 on 365 cards was to make a card with a Back to School theme. I made an iris folded green apple (love those Granny Smith's) using paper from the Circle of Crafter's website. I used stickers that I had laying around. It looks like it needs something more. I haven't done any iris folding in awhile so it seemed like that consumed alot of time on this card. I guess I'm going to have to start doing more of them. The Circle of Crafter's website is wonderful if you want to start iris folding or teabag folding.

This is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch for 8/24/09. Papers are from CTMH as well as the stamps and ink. The ribbon is from my stash...unknown.

Day 177 at 365 cards was Monogram Monday. I used background paper that I found on the internet, a "C" tag that I had laying around, and a crocheted flower that I made. I hardly ever make anything monogrammed and I'm not sure why. After looking at everyone's cards on the blog, I realized that you can really get fancy or keep it simple, and the results are gorgeous just because of the letter on the card.

This is my card for Super Sketch Sunday for 365 cards blogspot, Day 176.

Congratulations Marzelanche

Congratulations to Marzelanche for winning the blog candy for naming my parakeet. I took all the names and put them into a hat as I loved all the suggestions. I picked Georgio out of the hat. Ya know, it really fits the little guy! E-mail me with your address so I can get this stamp set out to you.

Thank you all for playing.

This is my take on Day 175 at 365 cards. We were supposed to stamp over other images, no masking. I love the chicken wire and the flowers, I'm not crazy about the grass. Anyway, it looked like an Easter card to me so I went with it.

This is my take on Day 174 for 365 cards. We had to use the color peach. Unfortunately my scanner can't see the peach! I found this cute baby picture online. Is she sweet or what?
This is my take on Day 173 at 365 cards. We had to incorporate 3 ways to make a sentiment. I used a sticker (U), a computer generated R, and stamped "Totally Chic" I thought about the sentiment being "I'm here to support you."

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

This completes 2 challenges, a sketch for Mojo Monday's Tuesday card and 365 cards Day 172 using ABC's and 123's. I used stickers for the letters but had to stamp the #8. I used CTMH paper, CTMH "The Works" alphabet for the #8 and the flower, and some jute I had hanging around. Mojo Monday blogspot is celebrating #100 so they are doing cards all week, check them out.

Here's my take on Day 171 at 365 cards. We needed to have a triangle (my sign), a button, (on the end of the sign), and a sticker (the shells, seahorses and some of the fish.) As you can see one fish is heading AWAY from school. The sentiment on the inside says "You're one of a kind." Don't forget to scroll down and check out my blog candy. Just think of a name for my new male parakeet and you can win a Tickled Pink stamp set.

Monday, August 17, 2009

Here is my take for Day 170 at 365 cards. We had to make a card that doubles as something else. I thought about making cards that held a packet of seeds with something on there like "You Grow Girl" but decided on the tea instead. Scroll down and get your name in for my blog candy.
This is my take on Day 169 at 365 cards. I was initially skeptical about this design but when I put this together, I realized I loved it. I will use this sketch again, I'm sure. Scroll down and find out how you can win some blog candy from me.

Name My Parakeet Giveaway

Okay, here's the deal, I bought a male parakeet the other day and cannot come up with a name for him. All the birds we had in the past were named by my son Logan. He no longer lives here, and I need a name for this little guy. He is a very light blue with a yellow face. Sorry, he wouldn't stand still for being scanned. LOL! This set is from Close to My Heart. Leave me a comment with a great birdie name....good luck!

Okay, I liked this so much I made two. These are my take for Day 168 using a toile design for 365 cards. Did I use fabric? No. I had the fabric but no stamps that fit in for toile. So I downloaded these images off the internet, printed them on cardstock and made two 6x6 cards. The brown design is called "Jamestown" and the blue design is called "Harvest." Scroll down and leave a comment if you want to enroll in my blog candy giveaway. I am choosing someone tomorrow (Sunday).

This is my take on Day 167 at 365 cards. We had to make a card that looked like a present. My tag has glitter around the "flap" part and also on the little hearts at the bottom although it didn't scan well. This card was fun. I may have to make some more. Don't forget to put a comment in under my blog candy offer....scroll down. I will be drawing a name this Sunday.

This is my take on Day 166 at 365 cards. The recipe called for 5 flowers, 3 different kinds of patterned paper, wet embossed sentiment and glitter on a 4x7 card. Phew! The paper is CTMH Floral Tapestry. The white flower is CTMH. The middle has green glitter on it. The purple flowers are from Joann Fabrics. The sentiment is from CTMH. My embossing did not come out well. I think I should have used a chunkier style stamp. I kinda like these 3 papers together. Sign up for blog candy below my star card....scroll down. I will be drawing this Sunday night. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments you have left me.

BLOG CANDY

This did not scan well :( Anyway, leave a comment on my "Stars Card" for Day 165 (see below) and I will choose a name at random to send you this Close to My Heart acrylic set called "No Peeking." It makes great tags! I will choose this Sunday. Good Luck!

This is my take on Day 165 at 365 cards. The stars are from CTMH "Out West" and "Words to Live by." The "legs" are from "Alien" from Memory Box and the Sentiment is from Stamp Oasis. I colored the legs and shoes with Copic Markers. The colors really washed out during the scan. The star colors are almost neon! I just had a thought....I should have put little google eyes on the big stars :D

This is my take on Day 164 at 365 cards. We had to follow a color scheme. I think I got them all including the orange toenails.

This is my take on Day 163 at 365 cards. Our challenge was to use a masking technique. This is the first time I've done it with these Hawaiian shirts. I colored them with Copic Markers.

Day 162 on 365 cards using glitter. This is a birthday card I made for my cousin's granddaughter. She is turning one in Nov. I put glitter on chipboard #1 and then distressed it a little on the right side only.

Saturday, August 8, 2009

This is my take on Day 161 on 365 cards. We were supposed to have a collage effect, patterned paper, no blank spots. The papers, die cut flower and buckle are from the CTMH tickled pink kit. The ribbon is by Offray. The paper has sparkles on it (the paper came that way.) It's much prettier than is scans.

Friday, August 7, 2009

Here is my take on Day 160 at 365 cards. We were supposed to use lace on our card. I did not have any lace in my stash but I did find some in my Paperworks monthly kit. So I used their items and their card design.

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Okay, this was a tough one and I almost didn't "play." The challenge on 365 cards was to make an indoor scene. I had nothing to work with...pondered it all day and finally decided to check out some clip art. I found the cradle, colored it with copic markers, used CTMH stamps for the balls, the duck the picture frame and the flower. I had some paper that looked like flooring and found some pink for the wall paper. I guess it wasn't so bad after all, I kinda like the way it turned out.

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

Okay, so at 365 cards the challenge was to make a card with a sign. The snowman went together well until the end when I blobbed ink on the card making his stick arm. So then I made the garden card using a little wooden sign I had that I colored and stamped. Then it happened again....I blobbed ink again on one of the tall flowers and in the sky. I should have had the Margarita BEFORE I made the cards huh? Having the wooden sign on the scanner also made the flowers in back of the sign look blurred. Oh well....hope everyone else's day went better.

This is my take on Day 157 for 365 cards. It is tea bag folding. The paper squares are from http://www.circleofcrafters.com. The corner pieces are from the Dollar Store, the sentiment is from CTMH, the green background paper and the brown brad are from Joann Fabrics. The background on the green paper is Fiskars Lace plate that I rubbed on.

Monday, August 3, 2009

This is for Day 156 on 365 cards. It is an ad inspired card. You can see the pic if you go to http://365cards.blogspot.com

I am not yet savy enough to put it on my site. I'm lucky I can now run the scanner. LOL You can't see it in the pic but I ran my Kraft paper through the Cuttlebug using the Fiskars basket weave plate. The green cardstock is CTMH as well as the stamps. The brads are something from Joann Fabrics. It's hard to see the "drawers" are partitioned off side by side.

This is my take on Day 155 at 365 cards. I like the little shell in the middle of the circle but wish it was bigger. All cardstock is from CTMH except the green circle. I used a Fiskar punch for the blue and used a $ store punch for the shell. The middle was the bubble pattern on my Cuttlebug.

Saturday, August 1, 2009

Here is my take on Day 154 at 365 cards. It was planes, trains and automobiles. I love my orange cones, but the yellow caution signs didn't really show up in the scan as well as they do on the card. I am all caught up for the week! Yea! I can't wait to see what next week brings.

Okay, the brain injury is showing. Not only did I mess up the order of this card but I have messed the days up so they are not in order anymore. LOL! This is the story of my life and I don't have the time to try and change this. This is for Day 152 on 365 cards. I did a peek-a-boo card. I love my cuttlebug but do not use it enough!

Here is my take on Day 153 at 365 cards.
